Recycling Updates: The RO Environmental Advisory Board

Meijer Woodward Corner Market is no longer offering single-use plastic bags at the checkout. Shoppers will be asked to bring their own reusable bags or purchase them, starting at just 10 cents each.

The Royal Oak Public Library provides:

  • Seed Library - Donated seeds should be taken to the Reference Desk, the library packages the seeds

  • Bin to recycle plastic bags

  • A bucket to recycle batteries

  • A handicraft bin for scarfs, gloves, hats, cowls and mittens (they collect supposably through end of March)

The Royal Oak Farmers Market has egg carton recycling, people can drop them off in or just outside the office in the market. Egg cartons they except are the styrofoam or paperboard cartons. Cartons are given directly to the vendors who sell eggs at the market.
